History of the school image
In 1898 the Sisters of Mercy opened a school called 'College of Our Lady of the Sea Boarding School for Young Ladies' in Tanti Avenue, Mornington. In the following years, the Sisters created the 'Padua House Preparatory School for Little Boys.'
In 1943 the two schools combined making 'Padua College.' The school quickly outgrew  the Tanti Avenue site.
In 1975 the college was moved to OakBank road, where the Mornington Campus is today. The new school was officially opened in 1977.
The school continued to grow so that in 1987 a new campus was created at Inglewood Crescent, Rosebud. In 2014 another campus was made on Frankston-Flinders Road, Tyabb.

Catherine established the House of Mercy in 1823, a place built to house and educate poor women and children. In 1831 Catherine made her Profession of Vows and created the Order of the Sisters of Mercy to gain supporters and spread the messengers of the Mercy order.

"Sisters of Mercy should be particularly kind — the kindest people on earth, with the tenderest pity and compassion for the poor."

St Anthony of Padua image
Saint Anthony was born Fernando Martins in Lisbon, Portugal. He was born into a rich family and by the age of 15 he was asked to go to Abbey of Santa Cruz in Coimbra, the capital of Portugal back then. During his time there he learned theology and Latin.
After he became a priest he was named Guest-master and responsible for the Abby's hospitality. When Franciscan friars settled a small hermitage outside Coimbra dedicated to Saint Anthony of Egypt, he felt a longing to join them. after he joined the Franciscan oder he changed his name to Anthony.
Anthony then traveled to Morocco to spread God's word but he became very sick and was returning to Portugal to recover when the return voyage was blown off-course and the party arrived in Sicily, so they traveled to Tuscany. Anthony was assigned to the hermitage of San Paolo after local friars considered his health.
A while later Dominican friars where visiting the Franciscan Friars but neither where sure who would say the homily. The head of the Franciscan hermitage asked Anthony to do it so he did. Soon Francis of Assisi heard of Anthonys moving speech and they soon became friends.
Later when a novice decided to leave the hermitage, he stole Anthony's book. When Anthony discovered it was missing, he just prayed it would be found or returned to him. The thief did return the book and in an extra step of penance returned to the Order as well.
Anthony died at the age of 36 and was made a saint a year later.
